ARTIST STATEMENT

I am a visual artist whose practice is rooted in nature and in basket weaving as a craft, a method and an artistic language. I work with natural materials, structures and forms, exploring their possibilities through variations in technique, scale and expression. My practice ranges from small-scale images and objects to large-scale land art installations.

I am drawn to the rhythms and patterns of weaving found both in nature and in traditional craft. By enlarging, framing and transforming these forms, I highlight their visual and spatial qualities.

My process often begins with a defined idea or a formal investigation, in which creative exploration and technical precision go hand in hand. This creates a tension between the organic and constructed, between inherited craft technuques and new artistic expressions.

My work explores the intersection of natural structures, craft traditions and contemporary design. Through weaving, I investigate how materials and familiar forms can be shifted, transformed and reimagined.
